Gene Glover,
Drums. He was born outside of
Memphis, Tennessee. Graduated from S.E.
HS in 1971 - Oklahoma City,
OK.
He was
educated at the University of North
Texas with a Bachelor of Music with emphasis in Jazz
May 1976. Again at the same school he received his Master’s of Music Ed with
emphasis in jazz August 1979. Gene has been an adjunct professor of music at
Richland Community College since 1979 and an adjunct professor
of music at Collin
County Community College since 2004. He can be
heard on several North Texas lab Band CD’s on
both percussion and drum set. They include Lab '75 & '76, Lab
'77, Live at Spletto, and Lab ' 78.
Major artists he has
backed include, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Barry White, George Strait, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The
Platters, The Drifters, Mary Wells, Delbert McClinton, Sandi Patti, Larnelle
Harris and others. Gene has served as band leader for the Roof Raisers since
1986. The Roof Raisers have performed in Texas,
Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas,
Colorado and California over the last 20 years. Gene also
has over 100 albums and over 2000 jingles to his credit, as well. He joined
Dallas’ Original
Jazz Orchestra in 2009.
