John J. Gordon, Tenor Saxophone - John earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Texas Southern University in Houston. Upon graduating he began teaching music theory and jazz improv at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. During that time he performed in pit orchestras of musicals and as a contract musician with artists including The Temptations, Lena Horn, The Spinners, Rodney Dangerfield, and others. Touring has included the Ascona Jazz festival in Switzerland with singer Jewel Brown and South Africa with pianist Abdula Ibrahim. John, his wife, and two sons moved to Dallas in 1997.

In addition to playing with Dallasʼ Original Jazz Orchestra, John plays regularly with the Signature party band and subs with Fingerprints smooth jazz group.
